Sounds about right.

A mascot is a stupid idea, though. What on earth introduced it?

Re: Knowledge Base Building

Do you know what format the entries on literature were meant to take? Or, now that (it seems) no one else is actively trying to fill out the base more fully, does it really matter what the original intentions re: formatting were? Relatedly, if there is the possibility of asexuality in research (say,...

Re: Might as well

P, we'll take Apositive by storm. They won't know what happened. We probably won't know what happened, either.

(and thanks to all the rest, of course)

Re: Could you love/have a relationship with a mtf/ftm asexual?

Which is to say that words are tricky, and even those who belong to the trans community stumble, especially because very few words outside of "transsexual" have any definite medical definition.

Re: Knowledge Base Building

Upon looking further into the Knowledge Base, I have several questions: First, upon submitting an article, it says that it must be reviewed before it will show up, and I'm curious about who is in charge of doing that/if anyone is, given that it appears that Karl hasn't posted in over a year. Second,...

Re: Could you love/have a relationship with a mtf/ftm asexual?

I would never have sex with any partner, so the genitalia of a potential one would be the furthest thing from my mind.

Re: The Creation of a Flag

Well, in some (small, probably ultimately inconsequential) ways it already is being used. If you spend any time on Tumblr, the LGBTQetc. blogs all picked up on it and people have used in several small capacities there, primarily as a backdrop for secrets posted on Queersecrets. There's also a thread...

Might as well

That is, might as well introduce myself.

I actually joined Apositive in February, just as I was getting actively involved in any kind of ace community, but neglected to post until the beginning of July, to bring the flag madness here from AVEN, and have since ignored the site until yesterday.

Re: The Creation of a Flag

Personally I think the use of the rainbow flag shoudn't be narrowed to the gay movement, but should be the symbol of tolerance, diversity, inclusiveness and hope for people of all sexual preferences (even more as many gay men themselves nowadays tend to be less tolerant) - so why not also for asexu...

Re: Knowledge Base Building

I realize that I am late to the party (by two and a half years), but would there be objections to someone else trying to fill out the Knowledge Base more fully?

I have a lot of extra time and I'd be willing to dedicate some of it to contributions therein.

The Creation of a Flag

A few days ago, someone on AVEN introduced the possibility for the creation of an "official" flag to represent asexuality, and yesterday a collection of flags (around fifty suggested designs) were opened up to voting, though without a preliminary vote on whether the asexual community truly...
