Re: Heads Up

Good grief.
That's a lot of negativity to process. I hope Lord Grep gets things sorted out and realizes that you've moved on - and that he should do the same.

Re: Heads Up

Ciri, if you know who they are and you don't feel safe about naming them, PM me with whatever info you have and I'll see if there's anything I can do.
(Probably not, but ya never know, and at least I will know to be watchful.)

Re: Make a Discord server or something?

We've talked about installing a chat application several times and it keeps coming back to the same problem: moderation. I'm not automatically against the idea, in fact I think it could be valuable, but it would have to happen after the site is more active. Apos isn't as strictly moderated as AVEN a...

Re: Meet our Apositive mascot, tentatively named Abby

Meh . . . Apos has been around for quite a few years. We're not ready to give up just yet, but if it turns out that there's no demand for a website about asexuality which is primarily geared toward responsible adults, then so be it. We can always archive the database and turn off the lights. I don't...

Re: Whoa quiet here....

Hmmm. Verrry interesting. I wonder if Abby will still be recognizable if I shrink her down to barely bigger than a real bee? I think I'll have to do that in order to make her fit but she has very clean lines and it might be okay. Now I have something to play with, but I won't tackle it until late mo...

Re: Whoa quiet here....

I had nothing to do with making the current header so I've never tried to dig into that part of the ACP, although I think I might have found where it's located. I don't even know where the image file (files?) that it's currently using are stored, though. I don't know if Karl has them someplace or if...

Re: Whoa quiet here....

I looked at it and . . . I have no idea? What's a coding system? Ask me something about biology, genetics or maybe even art theory, but no math or computer science, please. I'm genuinely dedicated to the cause of promoting asexuality awareness, but the only reason I still have this admin job is beca...

Meet our Apositive mascot, tentatively named Abby

Roughly 6 months ago, around the beginning of 2017, CatBunny offered to design a mascot for Apositive. She had a bunch of great ideas and we finally settled on the idea of a stylized honey bee because they are almost all asexual and yet they are intensely devoted to their peers, productive, valuable...

Re: Whoa quiet here....

It's good to see all of you guys! I miss the days when Apos used to be livelier. It's discouraging to come here just to see a digital ghost town - and then, to add insult to injury, the site keeps partially logging me out so I can't see new posts. Thanks to Catbunny's amazing talent, we now have our...

Re: Disability and asexual ?

You won't get any argument from me, and certainly no pitchforks. I have long maintained that there are at least two kinds of asexuality, although I termed the acquired kind "functional" asexuality. Those posts are around here someplace, but they're a few years old. In any case, functional ...

Re: Disability and asexual ?

I admit that I'm puzzled by the idea of being "ace in practice"? That sounds more like voluntary celibacy, although I might be reading it wrong. I can definitely understand how physical disabilities and chronic depression can play havoc with a person's feelings of self-worth, and that can ...

Re: Fruit Wars Return!

I thought that a fruit was the seed-bearing part of the plant, and a vegetable was anything else (leaves, stem, roots, etc.) Don't get me started on the various types of fruit, though. (Berries? Drupes? Droopy berries? HellifIknow!) Besides, I could be wrong about everything. Ya never know. I apprec...

Wha . . . what?? I didn't see anything about that in the rules. Besides, the cloves are mostly a guide to help with assembly. But - beware! Re: Asexual Visibility, Apositive style - We get wild ideas!

True. I was thinking that the stripes might be something useful to play with. Also, it would be easy to make their wings into a stylized letter A. Or heck . .. the whole little bee could almost look like an A. I was never good at that type of art. I can almost visualize it sometimes but I can never ...

Re: Asexual Visibility, Apositive style - We get wild ideas!

Hahaha! I think I needed a good pun this morning. ('Cuz I'm trying not to think about national events. *sigh*) I always think of the whiptail lizards, too, when I consider asexual animals, but I wonder if maybe they're the wrong kind of asexual? The thing I like about honeybees (the workers) is that...

Re: Asexual Visibility, Apositive style - We get wild ideas!

Hmmmmm . . . thanks for bringing back this thread, Cat. I wonder, is the asexual community ready to truly support a more grown-up alternative to AVEN, or are they content to hang around on the playground with the kids who are still trying on (or inventing) a new sexual identity every few months as t...

How do you see any political basis for the current definition of asexuality?

By that, I mean: "An asexual person is a person who does not experience sexual attraction."

Re: award-winning commercials

Interesting concept, and a very good idea for a commercial. I guess it could have happened in real life, although I thought that people who were on the waiting list for transplants would tend to be in frail health, and not suited to standing with crowds of people - some of whom would probably have c...

Re: do you still...

The way I see it, a good act is still a good act regardless of what motivates it.
I don't have to trust the person who does it, but I'll give them some credit for choosing to do something helpful, even if they only do it to promote themselves. After all, they have plenty of non-helpful alternatives.
