Re: Fruit Wars Return!

Wha . . . what?? I didn't see anything about that in the rules. Besides, the cloves are mostly a guide to help with assembly. But - beware! My durians have finally arrived, slightly flattened in transit, but mostly okay. *carefully rolls the best-looking, roundest durians over the row of be-clovened...

Re: Fruit Wars Return!

I'm going to have to find out what these odd fruits are. I can't decide whether to launch them or eat them. That probably means that I should be thinking about dinner. Meanwhile . . . *carefully lines up a long row of mangoes and pokes them full of cloves* I'm not going to say what I'm planning to d...

Re: Hello!

Sorry to hear that you ran afoul of their rules. Apparently, based on what some of our members have said, it's a very easy thing to do. Things have been quiet around here lately, but we're not dead - honest! :D Welcome to Apositive! Feel free to post your video. The rules here are pretty lenient sin...

Sure! I think it would be fun to see what ideas you come up with.

(And Thank You! I REALLY appreciate this. You can't imagine what a lift it is to finally have something interesting happening on the site.)

Re: Asexual Visibility, Apositive style - We get wild ideas!

True. I was thinking that the stripes might be something useful to play with. Also, it would be easy to make their wings into a stylized letter A. Or heck . .. the whole little bee could almost look like an A. I was never good at that type of art. I can almost visualize it sometimes but I can never ...

Re: Asexual Visibility, Apositive style - We get wild ideas!

Hahaha! I think I needed a good pun this morning. ('Cuz I'm trying not to think about national events. *sigh*) I always think of the whiptail lizards, too, when I consider asexual animals, but I wonder if maybe they're the wrong kind of asexual? The thing I like about honeybees (the workers) is that...

Re: Asexual Visibility, Apositive style - We get wild ideas!

Hmmmmm . . . thanks for bringing back this thread, Cat. I wonder, is the asexual community ready to truly support a more grown-up alternative to AVEN, or are they content to hang around on the playground with the kids who are still trying on (or inventing) a new sexual identity every few months as t...

How do you see any political basis for the current definition of asexuality?

By that, I mean: "An asexual person is a person who does not experience sexual attraction."

Re: award-winning commercials

Interesting concept, and a very good idea for a commercial. I guess it could have happened in real life, although I thought that people who were on the waiting list for transplants would tend to be in frail health, and not suited to standing with crowds of people - some of whom would probably have c...

Re: do you still...

The way I see it, a good act is still a good act regardless of what motivates it.
I don't have to trust the person who does it, but I'll give them some credit for choosing to do something helpful, even if they only do it to promote themselves. After all, they have plenty of non-helpful alternatives.

Strange, but I don't think I have ever heard about this.

Re: How to become one with being asexual: become a nudist

I really have a hard time equating a desire for frequent nudity with any aspect of asexuality, because I don't see asexuality as being related to a poor body image. They seem like two completely unrelated subjects to me. They don't exclude each other; they just don't seem to overlap very much. Now, ...

Re: creating GAVEN to replace AVEN

Interesting ideas, MichaelS. It's been quite a while since Apos had anybody behind the wheel other than me, but there have been a few other admods from time to time in the past. Like you said, with the site being as slow as it is nowadays, there isn't really a need for more than one person right now...

Re: your view of the irresolvable

My solution is to accept the fact that we are all equally flawed, and to not expect other people to behave any better than I do. In other words, they are forgiven in advance and I don't assume that they are being intentionally deceitful - only that they are trying to optimize their own chance of sur...

Re: How to become one with being asexual: become a nudist

I don't think I would see any problem with it at all as long as it stayed in the privacy of a person's home. I'm not sure if it would help body image issues or not, but it probably wouldn't hurt.

Re: So have I been bullshitting my sexuality all these years?

I would say that it's not worth the worry, but then you might feel otherwise. The main thing (to me) would be to make sure that there aren't any potential health issues associated with it, and if there are then to beware of them and take preventative measures if possible. As for whether or not you'r...

It seems to me like everybody has left Apos and gone away to do more interesting things or to hang out at more interesting places.

should we even bother?
