And wow, this thread proves that I don't have a sense of humour.
No, really, I don't. No sense of humour here. I'm just a little pun-y :P

I'm no biologist but I'm pretty sure that's a dog and not a human baby

In fact I think the only crossbreeding that can work with humans is a rhinosciris? Although I would imagine that most human females would not want that kind of horn in them

Nancy might stuff it though

Trying to write a journal/blog article on how to secretly send and receive data by hiding the TCP packets in Internet/domain routing traffic. Kind of like a protest piece against the 'pornography blocking' system that's getting legislated here in the UK.

Yes, and more to the point, pornography is the excuse being used. Once the system is in place, it can be used to filter practically anything The Powers That Be feel like adding to the list, and I suspect that's the actual motive.

Not at all

What they are doing is asking internet providers to adopt an opt out option for it's users of Porn example I first time use google on a new pc and it will say something like ..your settings are set to blocking porn, do you wish to change them...you the user then have the option to use that setting or change it

As odd as it seems ..Porn is actually on the decrease by users but the repeat porn users are watching more...the pm will probably get this from the internet providers more likely than the original request of banning pictures of rape and child abuse which they could do but the revenue is to high

I suspect until most of the board members of google/microsoft/yahoo, aol etc have children aducted and abused or female members raped then they will do nothing along those lines at all

That's true, for as long as it's about filtering pornography and the 'opt out' requests are honoured. However, I reckon that's just the sugarcoating for getting another Internet trafic filtering system in place, so they can start filtering other stuff in years to come.

There's also a fundamental difference between this and Microsoft/Google/Yahoo - the filtering is implemented at the ISP level, and that takes the decision out of the customers' hands. Sure, people might opt out, but there's no guarantee that option will always exist.

Wouldn't just using a proxy solve this?

Depends on the situation. If the traffic's unencrypted between the user and proxy, it's liable to get filtered anyway. A proxy could also become a security risk if it's being run by a malicious party, or if there's a reason for law enforcement to seize the proxy server and inspect the logs. Proxies themselves also get filtered, sometimes by looking for keywords (such as 'proxy', 'unblock', freeproxy', etc.) in the URL, or added to a blacklist when they're discovered.

Ah, good points, which explains my experience that some proxies will work on some sites, but not others. It's getting more challenging to find a proxy that will work for "most" sites in a given country. Except US proxies. Not sure why US proxies are so open, given the recent crack down on all things copyright.

Well, someone might run a proxy service for any number of reasons. Someone might do it because they're against censorship, because they're hoping to capture login details, steal users' identities, or perhaps harvest the IP addresses of people infringing copyright. Be very careful what you communicate through a proxy.

Well yes using anything 'unknown' to you has risks. But then... in general using the internet has risks ;) I'd be interested in reading the post/book when you have it done :)

I used to use a proxy when watching...my little pony...in uni halls. Because it was against our contract to watch such sexy things as...my little pony...And I know they used to check to make sure we weren't watching...my little pony. One guy even got a letter sent home due to his excessive use of...my little pony...

What they weren't counting on in halls is that everybody used to bedhop anyway and enjoy a bit of friendship that's magic.

You should think about keeping that shit in the closet. A My Little Pony addiction might compromise your reputation years later.

It appears that I'm late in getting to this party. (I have an excuse - honest! It involves salamanders ...)
I have nothing to say about those perverted little ponies, and I won't discuss whether they are mine or not.

But this:

Nowhere is a safe place in our house - except my bedroom, but I'm in there so it would be VERY hazardous for anyone else :D .

I think you could be a very scary person when you're angry, Tan.

PiF ran away! Maybe the prospect of being Fuzzlebutt and DJ's father got a bit too much for him.
