Incidentally, just how long does one remain a New Member? Or is it a part of the software that requires an active Ritual of Passage initiated by the moderator?

(currently a member for two years and counting!)

I'm pretty sure it's based entirely on post count.
I will go poke around and see what the intervals are but I suspect that the first rank change might occur at 50 posts.

Edit: Yep, the first change is at 50 posts. (You are almost there, ASIC!)
But ... the rank titles look very boring to me. There is some definite room for improvement, IMO.

OK, so I'm going to have to go on a post padding bonanza - are there any rules against it?

*Are there any RULES around here??? *

I can only draw a straight line if it is very, very short.
Now ... some people might question my definition of "line" and insist that it is really a dot, but I know the difference.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
