Meet our Apositive mascot, tentatively named Abby

Postby KAGU143 » Sat Jun 10, 2017 9:00 am

Roughly 6 months ago, around the beginning of 2017, CatBunny offered to design a mascot for Apositive. She had a bunch of great ideas and we finally settled on the idea of a stylized honey bee because they are almost all asexual and yet they are intensely devoted to their peers, productive, valuable, and highly successful. (Also, you really don't want to piss them off . . . but I swear that wasn't a factor! :D )

This is A (for asexual) Bee, aka: Abee, or Abby. Her name is subject to change, and if the traffic here ever picks up I think it might be fun to have a contest to pick her permanent name.

I think she is magnificent!

Great work CatBunny!

And oh gosh, mascots... that brings back memories. Shortly after I joined the PT, back in the mists of time, someone wanted to make an AVEN mascot and ew took a lot of flack for even taking that idea seriously. Right here on apos in fact. :p We gave up in the end...

How bored and how fallen we must be.......... (Then again I'm still relatively new here I guess. Sort of invalidates me using "we".)

Meh . . .
Apos has been around for quite a few years. We're not ready to give up just yet, but if it turns out that there's no demand for a website about asexuality which is primarily geared toward responsible adults, then so be it. We can always archive the database and turn off the lights.

I don't see it happening anytime very soon, though.

I'm glad you guys like it! I've been trying to recommend this forum to an ace discord at least to get some activity. Maybe we'll see more people, who knows.

I confess, Karl was the one who figured out how to do it. Something about the site got very glitchy and it wouldn't let anybody join. While he was figuring that out he also put Abby where she belongs.
Karl saved us again!
