Show off your creative projects

Postby KAGU143 » Fri Dec 16, 2011 5:07 pm

I'm actually kinda proud of this, although you know the economy is seriously tight when I end up making Christmas presents! None of my extended family members have ever visited Apositive, so it should be safe to show it here. This is the first thing that I have painted in over a decade, and now I remember why. I very wisely decided againt trying to be a professional fine arts painter many years ago. 1 present mostly down, 2 to go ... whew!
Photobucket's effects provided the matting and frame. I still have to do that part IRL.

That's a lot better than I could do painting! Congrats on a nice pic.

Here's probably my best creative work, although it isn't that great:

Love After Love

The most important words I'll say to you
Are silent words that you will never hear
Because I know us far, far better now
Than back when I was in your heart, and near.
The love we had, and which we threw away
Was never love til it was gone for good.
Craving, or perhaps an urgent need
Was all we knew; love, never understood
Until it was no more. Oh, how I wish
That we could return to those fond days
Of sweet affection and of foolish plans.
With sweetness gone, the pain is all that stays
And, finally, my love, my love is true.

That is well-written, Michael, and the experience that it relates is, unfortunately, all too common among humankind. 'Seems that hindsight is often our sharpest vision.

You should be proud, Nancy, that's lovely.

Funnily enough my wife decided she'd teach herself to draw/paint birds this week. Hers aren't quite that good yet ;)

Most of my creative projects involve building our house and landscaping our garden, and I'm not inclined to post pictures of either online, but it is a wonderful to see an idea turned into reality.

Very nice painting, Greybird. Incredible ability there.

Michael, while I cannot relate to it, I do dig the poem.

As for my own creative endeavors, I'd post some of my miniatures, but I don't have any photos of those online or on my computer at the moment. I do, however, have some photos of a recent costume:

And just the collar:

I wonder if quail pictures can count as asexually-themed art?
I mean ... erm ... they are just standing there being nice. Not even playing footsies or anything - LOL!
