'tis the season to be absent, fa la la la la la la la la

So I don't log on for about three days and when I come back...the last post made on here was two days ago. Guess the good people of this world are washing their cars on their lunch hours, as the old song puts it.

Can't say I'm familiar with any songs about washing cars on lunch hours.

I've been checking in when I can, but what with the holidays and the mandatory overtime at work, that time has been scarce.

In the song, washing your car on your lunch hour is a metaphor for the holidays and mandatory overtime at work.

"All I Wanna Do", by Sheryl Crow, is the song. I hear it pretty often on the Mountain (the station that I listen to the most.)

I'm not absent - just busier than all get-out, trying to deal with tons of real-life stuff that always seems to happen around this time of year.
If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

yyyyyyeah, I try to hang around but actually posting; I tend to forget
What is love? Well, you know that feeling you get when you've been locked in a tiny dark space alone for a year? It's kind of the opposite of that.

In the song, the good people washing their cars on their lunch hour is a metaphor for "busier than all get-out, trying to deal with tons of real-life stuff that always seems to happen around this time of year." That kind of thing only happens to the good people. Us bad people, on the other hand, are always struggling to make time go by faster.
